How it works

From keyword to demand signal

1

Enter a keyword

A service, a category, or a rough idea. Plain language is totally fine.

2

We search Reddit

You choose which Reddit search phrases to use (defaults skip the noisiest ones). Each phrase is sorted by recency before we merge.

3

Merged & labeled

Duplicates removed; each thread gets a simple high, medium, or low demand tier.

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers, same voice as the rest of the site.

Do I need a Reddit account?
No. We read public Reddit search results only.
Is this the official Reddit API?
No. We use the same public JSON search endpoints your browser can load. No OAuth and no Reddit login on your behalf.
How do you score demand?
Heuristic only: posts found via “looking for …” style queries are labeled higher than generic “best …” matches. Use judgment before outreach.
Why are some search phrases unchecked by default?
“Best …” and “alternative …” often surface roundups and comparisons instead of someone asking for a solution right now. Turn them on when you want a wider, messier sample.
Can I use this for cold DMs?
Follow Reddit’s rules and each subreddit’s norms. SubSnag is a research aid, not permission to spam.
